Maintenance Inspections & Home Safety

It’s that time of year again to get your heating system checked.  Please remember, this isn’t just about keeping your system running efficiently… it’s about safety, too!  If you have a gas or oil heating system, it’s especially important to have it checked out.  Mark, one of our residential service techs, noticed this rotted flue pipe during an air conditioning inspection.  Luckily he was able to replace it before the owner used their heating system; it would have poured carbon monoxide into their home!

Call or e-mail us today to schedule your inspection!

Last year, one of our clients was the lucky winner of the CMoR contest!   They gave the college tuition plan to their nephew, who is pictured below, smiling, after just being told that he would not have to worry about the financing of his college tuition.

Residential Boiler Installation

Here’s a picture our lead plumber sent of a nice looking boiler install we recently completed in the West End.

We replaced an oil boiler with a new Crown gas boiler and a Crown MS-53 indirect water heater.

Do you have an old boiler that needs to be replaced?  Give us a call or e-mail us!

How *NOT* to run Ductwork

Here’s a good example our commercial department found of how not to run ductwork.  This might set a record with the number of branch lines!

Concerns about Mold? Here’s a Good Article from ACCA

We often get questions / concerns about moldy ductwork / systems.

Here’s a great article from ACCA (Air Conditioning Contractors of America) of which James River Air is a member.  It talks about how to minimize mold growth and what to do if you suspect you have a mold issue.

James River Air Commercial Energy Manager, Mitch Mitchell, was recently featured on NBC 12’s “More Bang for Your Buck” segment.

Mitchell is interviewed by NBC 12 Consumer Reporter Jennifer Warnick.  He describes the process of evaluating and upgrading the lighting system for Commonwealth/Martin Printing.  The new system cut light wattage usage 50%, earning them a tax deduction that nearly paid for the new equipment.
The story aired last week on WWBT NBC 12.

If you’re interested in finding out how your organization can take advantage of energy-saving upgrades and tax incentives, contact Mitch at [email protected]

Dual Temperature Tankless Water Heater Installation

Here’s a photo from our commercial service department.  Most of you are probably familiar with tankless hot water heaters, but this is a dual temperature model.  It not only provides hot domestic water, it also supplies hot water to the building’s hydronic heating system… all with one efficient tankless heater!
