Virginia Clean Cities – Omni Hotel Event

Hugh Joyce, president of James River Air’s, was honored to be a speaker at the Virginia Clean Cities Business Case For Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Forum yesterday, October 17th, at the Omni Hotel in downtown Richmond.

The event was attended by Richmond’s Mayor, Dwight Jones, who did the first official “plug-in” of what is the first electric vehicle charger located at a hotel in the city.

Hugh and James River Air have pioneered the installation of EV chargers in the Richmond area.  We’ve installed several around town, including one at our office at 1905 Westmoreland Street.

Helping the Crotts Family

James River Air and it’s employees were proud to be able to help the Crotts Family with financial and clothing donations. We’d like to give a big thank you to Staff Sergeant Martinez and his fellow troops at the US Army Ordnance School at Fort Lee for giving us a ton of donations!  They went above and beyond with their contributions!!

Heat Exchanger – Safety

Here’s a picture of a heat exchanger we found today in a large commercial roof-top unit.  Even minor cracks in these can result in the release of deadly carbon monoxide into the air in your home or business.  A huge hole like this is a major problem and safety hazard!

Make sure you are having your fossil fuel heating equipment checked annually by a qualified contractor.  Call us today at 358-9333 or visit our website at www.jamesriverair.com to discuss maintenance options!

Proper Chiller Maintenance

Here’s some pretty impressive pictures that show why it’s important to keep your chiller properly maintained.  This particular chiller is almost sixty years old, and a thorough cleaning was badly needed!  As you can see, the cleaning done by our technician (Keith) made a huge difference!  Call or e-mail us today to talk about a maintenance plan for your equipment.

How NOT to Waste Piping

Here’s some “creative” plumbing waste piping we ran across today on a job site.

If your plumbing looks like this, it’s time to call James River!

James River Air at NBC “Call 12”

Yesterday, February 4, 2013, James River Air hosted NBC 12’s consumer call in.
Homeowners kept James River’s people busy on the phones answering questions about heating, electrical, and plumbing problems.
The special Call 12 provided an encore for James River Air “Comfort & Safety” campaign which asked people to tell the story of someone who could not afford to fix a home services problem. James River has been offering no-cost or low-cost repairs for as many needy families as they can.
